Serve Teams at Harvest
Most churches function with individuals from the church body volunteering their time and energies. Unfortunately, many often do so in areas that are outside their spiritual giftedness resulting in frustration and burnout.
Rather than exhorting people to serve out of duty or within their own strength, Harvest Church desires that people express themselves in serving according to the gifts God has given them. This way the body functions as a "body" with each member doing what they were designed to do!
If you haven't taken the spiritual gift survey yet, please do so now, before continuing on with this page. Once you discover and understand your gifts, you are ready to begin applying your unique giftedness.
Again, here is the list of spiritual gifts. Consider your top three areas of giftedness:
Administration
Apostleship
Discernment
Evangelism
Exhortation
Faith
Giving
Helps/Service
|
Hospitality
Knowledge
Leadership
Mercy
Prophecy
Shepherding
Teaching
Wisdom
|
Of these, Faith, Wisdom, Discernment, and Knowledge could be understood as "being gifts" in that, most churches don't have specific logistical roles centered around them. But they are gifts nonetheless and should be utilized to their fullest in whatever area of service you join. As for the rest, they could be summarized as "public and support" gifts. Consider these ways of applying yourself as God has gifted you:
